Our Efforts to Help End Hunger
NOVEMBER 25, 2020Acts of charity are a hallmark of AlphaGroup. While giving back has always been a critical part of our company’s mission, we are making even greater efforts this season to do our part in helping others negatively impacted by COVID-19.
As coronavirus cases surge and restrictions tighten in the Philadelphia area, we are making two immediate Thanksgiving donations to employee-recommended charities. These organizations – the Bernardine Center and the Daily Bread Food Pantry of Collegeville – are located within close proximity to our corporate headquarters in King of Prussia, PA.
The Bernardine Center provides a helping hand to low-income Chester, PA, residents by distributing emergency and supplemental food and supplies. It also offers educational, spiritual, and advocacy programs to help clients build better lives for themselves, their families, and their communities.
AlphaGroup’s Ed Shifflett and Stephen Douthwaite support the charitable efforts of Sister Sandra Lyons of the Bernardine Center.
The Daily Bread Community Food Pantry helps to eliminate hunger in the Perkiomen Valley area by providing residents in need with programs that supply food, promote the value of nutrition, increase self-sufficiency, and instill hope. In doing so, they help to ensure that food relief has a more meaningful, enduring impact.
“Hunger has many faces, some which are hard to spot,” said AlphaGroup founder and partner Stephen Douthwaite. “We hope that our donations will help these organizations to better meet their needs this year as a growing number of individuals and families struggle for the basic necessities during the coronavirus pandemic.”
Hunger and food insecurity are increasing dramatically across America and the AlphaGroup of Medical Communications is helping on a national level as well by supporting Feeding America. The Feeding America network is the nation’s largest domestic hunger relief organization. Together with individuals, charities, businesses, and government, we hope to do our part in bringing an end to hunger.
